I agree completely. There is no longer any excuse for any educator to be technologically illiterate......but in saying that there are barriers. Barriers that should have educators rallying with pitchforks and torches. Wonderful Web 2.0 tools are available to education for free but many are blocked. Or they are available one day and blocked the next. Or there is no computers available for the students to complete a project. Or no time in the curriculum to do meaningful projects. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Some valid, some not. But all these factors and more add to the frustrations teachers experience with technology. We need to get pass the frustrations and the fear of web by administrators, legislators and parents. We need to get pass the excuses. Because even if there are barriers, there is no excuse for teachers not being technologically literate.
